The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), a non-profit educational and service organization, was formed in 1950. The society's main goal is to promote Engineering as a desirable career path for women and girls, and to dismiss the negative connotation of the word "nerd" and to take it back for ourselves! We are the coolest nerds it will ever be your fortune to meet. Tell us differently and we will own you with our vast engineering knowledge. SWE encouraged women to aspire to new heights, and to boldly go where no girl has gone before.

SWE?

Um...YES. One thing that more and more companies like to look for are wel-rounded, accepting people. What better way for you to show that you care about and respect women in the workplace than to join their society? Or, score points with your girlie by showing her you think that women can accomplish just as much as men can.

Our main goals in SWE are to... (drumroll, please)

1. Assist women in getting back to the workplace after a temporary leave. (Well, we don't exactly, but other sections of SWE does.)

2. Be a center of information on women in engineering

3. Encourage women engineers to earn higher levels of education and achievement, and promote engineering as a viable option for young women and girls.

4. Inform the WORLD about the achievements and success of women in the engineering field.

There you'll find all the information about where we meet and what we do when we meet, namely eat and have a speaker tell us about what the real world (oh noes!) is like. There are also meeting notes posted there to see if you would be interested in becoming an officer.
