E323A or E300 (Lab) After working for over ten years in electronic and computer technology, Tom Johnston earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, cum laude, in Industrial Technology from San Diego State University in 1992. He specialized in drafting, computer-aided drafting (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), digital and analog system design, manufacturing and machining processes, industrial control circuitry/robotics and plastic injection mold design.He received a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from San Diego State University in 1996. He specialized in modern adult education theory & applications, cognitive science, instructional design, computer-aided instruction and integration of computer technology in the classroom.Tom taught electronic and computer technology at Southwestern College before coming to San Diego State University. He has been teaching drafting and CAD for the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1993 and presently teaches the first two of a four-course series in computer-aided design and virtual reality.
