Show me Video, Audio, and Whiteboard have been installed on many of the Sparcs in the Engineering Building. This software allows users to confrence with Audio and Video (if you have a camera) and also interact using the Whiteboard. To see if Showme has been installed on your machine look in /opt/SUNWsunsol/bin/ if you see showme files then it has been installed. If this directory does not exist then Showme has not been installed on your machine and you will need to contact Christopher Paolini about having it installed.

If Showme does exist on your machine you can begin using it right away by typing:

% /opt/SUNWsunsol/bin/showme&

You can set it up so that you do not have to type the complete path each time by adding showme to your path in your .cshrc file:

% vi ~/.cshrc (or pico ~/.cshrc whichever you prefer)

You will see some path lines:

set path=(/bin /usr/bin /etc /usr/sbin /opt/WLtop/bin)
set path=($path /usr/ccs/bin)

After the last path line add the following:

set path=($path /opt/SUNWsunsol/bin)

After the above steps have been completed, and you have logged out and back in, you can start shome by typing:

% showme&

After a few seconds you will see a window similar to this:

To conference with someone you type their username@machinename in the "Confrence with:" box and hit the Call a conference button. Once the connection has been made you can start the different Showme features:
