MARC v7.2 and Mentat v3.2 are available on the UltraSPARC workstations located in the College of Engineering SunLab, room E-300. To use any of the workstations, you must possess a valid account in the NIS+ engineering.sdsu.edu. domain. If you do not have such an account, please see the SunLab administrator, Christopher Paolini, in E-207C.

To invoke Mentat® once you have logged on one of the workstations, hold down the rightmost mouse button while the pointer is in the blue background. The default desktop background pattern, assuming you have chosen the Common Desktop Environment, has the following pattern:

When you hold down the right mouse button, the following popup menu should arise:

Select the entry in the popup menu entitled Mentat and release the mouse button. After 60 to 90 seconds, the Mentat® graphical interface will show. Please be patient while Mentat® loads; it will take about a minute for the interface to appear.
