Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at San Diego State University
fully subscribes to the concept of the "Teacher-Scholar" model for its faculty.
A faculty member is expected to maintain excellence in the classroom and contribute

members in the department engage in a number of extramurally funded R&D projects.
Research activities of the Department received support from the National Science
Foundation, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Navy Research Labs,
and various electronics and communication companies. The research program in the Department complements the graduate program by bringing forefront knowledge to the classroom and by training graduate students. Extramural funds provide financial support to students, help supplement state funds to equip laboratories, and enable the faculty to attend and contribute to technical conferences in their field of investigation.
